The Mathematics Foundation announced that the 2022 Ikeda Research Award has been awarded to Asst. Prof. Asgar Jamneshan from Mathematics Department. We wholeheartedly congratulate his exceptional achievement.

Asgar Jamneshan received his Ph.D. from the mathematics department of Humboldt University. After post-doctoral positions at the University of Konstanz, ETH Zurich, and UCLA, he joined Koç University mathematics department in 2020. His main research interests are in the fields of ergodic theory, additive combinatorics, harmonic analysis, functional analysis, and Boolean-valued logic.

Prof. Halil Kavaklı, head of the Molecular Biology and Genetics Department and Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, has received the prestigious TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award in 2022, for his outstanding research on DNA repair and circadian rhythm.
