Welcome to Koç University Faculty of Sciences

Scientific understanding, discovery, and development are the keys to progress. Within the Faculty of Sciences, over forty faculty members conduct pioneering research in Molecular Biology and Genetics, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics on a global scale. Our faculty members not only uncover unknowns in fundamental sciences but also play a significant role in translating this knowledge into technology. For example, our Physics faculty contribute to the development of next-generation computers and devices through their work in quantum and photonic technologies. Our Chemistry faculty are conducting research on sustainable energy sources, which are vital for the future of our planet. They also develop new materials and compounds for combating different diseases. Our Mathematics faculty members are engaged in research on artificial intelligence and data security. In the Molecular Biology and Genetics department, our faculty are conducting pioneering interdisciplinary studies at field of cancer, neurobiology, drug design, and aging to understand the molecular biology of various diseases.

All our faculty members have a great passion for conveying the sense of scientific curiosity and adventure to our students. At the Faculty of Sciences, our goal is to equip our students with the fundamental skills necessary to understand the universe and to train the scientists of future generations.
